Three is a cap, and the list is sliced. A home page news block that grows with the feed pushes everything below it off the page, and the point of this section is a glance rather than an archive.

The lead's picture goes through pubPicture, which labels a generated image unless told otherwise, and links the frame with aria-hidden so the headline stays the single announced link.
